STRONGER SIDE TO FACE GREENOCK WANDERERS  by Iain Grant
Fri 12th Dec 2008
Greenock Wanderes pay their first visit to Millbank tomorrow intent on completeing a Scottish Hydro Electric National League Division 2 double over their hosts.

Caithness were wiped 42-7 at Fort Matilda in September but will be fielding a markedly stronger side as they continue their quest to secure their place in the dvision.

A downside for the Greens has been their lack of recent action with Saturday's scheduled tussle away to Highland their second blank in a row.

Greenock's good home record this season was marred on Saturday when they went down 28-13 to leaders Whitecraigs.

Caithness coach Jim MacMillan said: "I daresay they could be a a bit sharper as they have been getting games.

"In our favour, we've got a few guys back and should be close to full-strength tomorrow."

Offshore workers Graham Fryer, James Sinclair and Norman Foubister are all available, with Fryer set to resume his half-back combination with Kris Hamilton. Halde Pottinger and Stevie Campbell are also set to return to the pack.

MacMillan said: "We got a bit of a doing down there but our side is going to be completely different tomorrow and I'd hope we'd be able to take something out of the game."

The match has a 1pm kick-off.

In the other game played on Saturday, bottom side Hillfoots went down 19-6 at home to Glasgow Accies.

*Caithness have been given a home draw in the third round of the Scottish Hydro Electric Cup.

They play Caley Division 1 side St Andrews University at Millbank on December 20. The winners are at home to Premiership 2 leaders Dundee HSFP.
