| SLICK SERVICE FROM SCRUM-HALF KRIS by Iain Grant |
| Wed 10th Feb 2010 |
Kris Hamilton gave a more than useful account of himself in Scotland’s opening match in rugby’s under-20s Six Nations tourney.
The nineteen-year-old Caithness scrum-half played the last 25 minutes in Friday evening’s 8-8 draw with France at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium in Inverness on Friday evening.
Kris got the biggest cheer of the night from the 3000 crowd when he entered the fray.
He cemented his place in the squad with a competent and committed display which featured two crunching tackles in the space of a few seconds.
His slick service and kicking also impressed but he had no opportunities to break.
Scotland’s points came from a try from Leeds Carnegie’s Alex Black and a penalty from Alex Blair, of Edinburgh Accies.
Kris, of Nordwall Park, Reiss is now preparing along with the rest of the squad for Friday evening’s match at Cardiff Arms Park for the match versus Wales.
Over 100 from Caithness went down to the match in Inverness with Caithness RFC represented at the pre-match reception hosted by SRU president Jim Stevenson.
